Our data principles

1

Every item is sourced

Each signal links to its original with a date; translations keep the original text for checking.

2

Missing means blank

If a source fails this week the page says so; we never pass off old data or estimates. Each source logs ok / zero / failed separately.

3

No bypassing access controls

Sites with CAPTCHAs or bot protection are never bypassed; we use official APIs, public data or search-indexed public summaries instead.

4

Counts are not sales

Ingredient, format and claim counts only cover this week’s collected launch and news text — frequency of mention.

5

Graded regulatory confidence

Official text / authoritative secondary / unverified, each with a last-reviewed date. Not legal advice.

6

Machine translation is disclosed

Chinese renderings of foreign-language titles and consumer questions are machine-translated with terminology checks; the original is authoritative and appears when you hover a title. Tell us about errors and we will correct them.

7

Tracked categories are disclosed

The naming glossary covers 70 tracked categories (skincare formats and packaging types); consumer questions and AI citations currently cover 21 of them, expanding to colour cosmetics, hair care, fragrance and more. Trade news is auto-classified against 700+ ingredient, format, packaging and testing names; regulation covers the whole beauty industry.

8

Independent, no paid ranking

No paid placements and no ranking promises; public data contains no company’s internal information or customer lists.

How items are assigned to readers

One signal can belong to several readers, assigned automatically by supply-chain layer, category glossary and keyword rules.

Ingredient & active suppliers

Ingredient demand shows up in launches and trade news before it becomes formulation orders. You need to know which ingredients keep appearing in new product names, which new raw materials were just filed in China, and which are about to be restricted — the first two tell you what to push, the third what to phase out.

Packaging suppliers

Packaging change is driven first by regulation (EU PPWR, California SB 54, plastic taxes) and only then by consumer taste. Watch two things: which formats new launches are using (airless, refill, stick, single-dose…), and which rule will downgrade an existing structure, and when.

OEM / ODM manufacturers

Manufacturers lose on two things: opening a line when supply is already saturated, or making a product that cannot enter the target market. Read demand (what launches and searches are growing), supply (how many B2B listings already exist) and market access (regulatory deadlines) together — plus how overseas buyers ask AI to find suppliers.

Brands

Brands need to know what competitors launched this week, what consumers are asking, what the same product is called in each market, and whom AI cites when it answers about the category. The last one increasingly shapes how new customers discover brands — a brand AI rarely cites has little visibility in AI search.

Testing & certification bodies

Testing demand is created almost entirely by regulatory deadlines and claim language: every new limit (PFAS, heavy metals, banned ingredients) means a wave of re-testing, and the more launches say “clinical”, “dermatologist”, “SPF” or “hypoallergenic”, the more substantiation work follows.

Service providers

Your clients are the brands and factories that are moving. This channel collects funding, M&A, channel expansion, new brands entering retailers and the AI-visibility landscape — signals of who is spending and who is entering.
